Gina Dimitropoulos is a Professor at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary, and holds the UCalgary Research Excellence Chair in System-Level Interventions for Equitable & Accessible Youth Mental Health Services. Gina is also a Fellow with the Academy of Eating Disorders. She is the Research Lead for the Calgary Eating Disorder Program, and an approved supervisor with the Train2Treat4ED. Dr. Dimitropoulos has over 25 years of experience in tertiary care and community-based settings delivering FBT, group therapy, and individual counselling for young people with eating disorders. In addition to her work in eating disorders, Gina is the lead research scientist for Kickstand—Alberta’s Integrated Youth Service, and also collaborates on national projects related to integrated youth services for diverse young people with mental health issues. Finally, Gina is the co-director for KINDEX- a national research and knowledge hub for Child and Youth Advocacy Centres in Canada and a researcher with Hull Services. She also supports the Youth Rights Hub- a national initiative run by and for youth seeking to improve care and lead research in child abuse.
