Biography

Alejandro Palma graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) where he obtained his medical degree. He then completed the Residency in Pediatrics at the Hospital de Ninos Ricardo Gutierrez and specialized as a Pediatric Immunologist at the Hospital de Pediatria “Prof. Dr. Juan P. Garrahan” in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he also did his chief residency. He currently works as an Assistant Professor and Faculty Member at the Division of Immunology (Department of Pediatrics) at the IWK Health Centre and Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he looks after patients with suspected or confirmed primary immunodeficiency. He also carries out research and teaching activities. His main research interests are antibody deficiency and immune dysregulation disorders as well as characterization of B cell function.
