Andrea is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto and a Research Fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children. She has recently completed a PhD through the School of Social Work at UBC where she examined the early posttreatment experiences of adolescents who had completed treatment for cancer. Her postdoctoral research will conceptualize quality of life (QoL) for adolescents living with advanced cancer and will develop an instrument for assessing QoL in this population. Andrea is a Social Worker and has had a long clinical practice in pediatric oncology and pediatric palliative care. She has been struck by the unique experiences of adolescents living with cancer and a driving force of her research is integrating their voices and experiences into research that involves them or their care. Outside of her research, she is kept busy with a happy and inquisitive four year old who loves adventures.
