Biography

Dr. Emily Cameron (she/her) is a Psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University. She is an Investigator with the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and Associate Member with the Women’s Health Research Institute at BC Women’s Hospital. Dr. Cameron completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Calgary and clinical residency at the Department of Clinical Health Psychology (Child & Adolescent stream) at the University of Manitoba. She has specialized training in program development, clinical trials, eHealth interventions, and peer coaching augmented interventions from two postdoctoral fellowships. Dr. Cameron’s research evaluates biopsychosocial factors that influence child development and family welling, with a particular focus on underrepresented parents in family research. Using mixed-methods and patient-oriented approaches, this research informs the creation of scalable prevention and intervention programs to promote child development and family wellbeing. Her work is also informed by her lived experiences as a parent alongside her clinical and research background. In her spare time, she loves exploring the West Coast through hiking, beach days, good food, and dog walks.
