Jade Desforges is a pediatric critical care nurse clinician at Centre hospitalier universitaire (CHU) Sainte-Justine and a PhD candidate at the Ingram School of Nursing at McGill University. She is co-supervised by Dr Argerie Tsimicalis, a nurse scientist at Shriner’s Hospital for Children and Dr Nadia Roumeliotis, a pediatric intensivist and clinical researcher at CHU Sainte-Justine. Both hospitals are based in Montreal, Canada. Her doctoral research, conducted as part of the Kids Discharged from ICU Sent Home (KIDS-DISH) program led by Dr Roumeliotis, focuses on co-designing an intervention to support children and families during the transition from the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) to home. Jade is passionate about qualitative research, patient and family partnerships, knowledge mobilization, and making health information accessible to all. She is developing an expertise in using creative approaches, including comics and storytelling, to communicate healthcare concepts to children and families. Through her clinical, academic, and lived experiences as a mother of two, Jade is committed to advancing pediatric critical care and aims to become an independent clinical nurse scientist in this field.
