Biography

Kimberly Nurse is a PhD student in the Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research program at the University of Toronto and a Clinical Research Project Coordinator at The Hospital for Sick Children. She also holds a Master of Science in Health Services Research and a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Toronto. Her research interests include improving child health outcomes, particularly related to prevalent and costly conditions in hospitalized children and respiratory medicine in the field of Paediatrics. This was initially inspired by interactions with her former Paediatrician and furthered by life experiences and opportunities to engage in patient-oriented research in primary care and hospital paediatrics. The overall objective of her doctoral research is to examine oxygenation and mechanical ventilation use in children 0 to 24 months of age hospitalized with bronchiolitis in Ontario. She danced competitively for many years and enjoys dancing and travelling in her spare time.
