Michael Anaba is pursuing a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of New Brunswick. He possesses a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health- Nursing from Catholic University, Ghana. With several years of clinical experience and a nursing instructor in Canada and Ghana, Michael is dedicated to employing interdisciplinary research methods to address health disparities in immigrant and refugee populations. His doctoral research centers on utilising community-based participatory research to explore the influence of nature-based programs (such as community gardening) on the health and well-being of refugee youth.
