Michaela Kucab is a Registered Dietitian and PhD candidate in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto and Department of Pediatrics at St. Michael’s Hospital. Michaela is a trainee within the TARGet Kids! primary care research network. Her research utilizes various methodologies including epidemiology, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, and patient-oriented clinical trials to explore early life interventions aimed at preventing childhood obesity and improving dietary intake and eating behaviours in children. Michaela is primarily interested in the role of early life environments and the impact of government policies on child nutrition, specifically early learning and childcare systems. She is also involved in the TARGet Kids! Parent and Clinician Team, which is a collaboration of researchers, clinicians and families that co-produce research together. Michaela is part of several collaborative projects that utilize community-based participatory methods to facilitate systems integration and implementation in effort to facilitate knowledge translation. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and being active.
