Rachel Hamilton is a PhD student at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Dr. Lindsay Jibb. Rachel is a pediatric oncology Registered Nurse at SickKids Hospital, and a survivor of childhood cancer. Her research focuses on enhancing short and long-term quality of life and improving outcomes in children with cancer and their families through optimization of cancer therapy. Rachel is passionate about patient-and-family-centred engagement and co-design of research. She aims to establish a strong research foundation during her doctoral studies in order to pursue a successful career leading cancer-focused research. Outside of research, Rachel loves spending time with her yellow Labrador retriever, Monet, and running with her fiancé.
