I am a University of Alberta Faculty of Nursing PhD student and a practicing Pediatric Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. I have over nine years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Cardiology and am fortunate to be member of the largest pediatric cardiac sciences program in western Canada. The focus of my doctoral research is on improving the psychosocial consequences experienced by children, living with congenital heart disease, and their families. My doctoral research is funded by a CIHR Doctoral Research award and a WCHRI Graduate Studentship. My PhD supervisor is Dr. Shannon Scott. I am privileged to be a part her ECHO research team, which focuses on improving health outcomes for children by developing arts-based resources for parents and families about common childhood conditions. In my spare time, I enjoy playing and watching hockey, and am a huge Edmonton Oilers fan.
