I am a pediatric neurosurgeon currently based in Ottawa, ON. I have always found enjoyment in understanding the mechanisms of how things work, and this curiosity applied to human thought and behaviour. After I began practice, I expanded my interests to not only appreciating the anatomy of the neurologic structures, but also how to improve our management of the diseases that afflict our most vulnerable populations. In particularly, I was drawn to what I perceived to be a significant gap in the care of neurologic disease. While the pediatric brain and spine have incredible capacity for plasticity and functional recovery after incredibly traumatic afflictions, I saw considerable opportunity to optimize that potential and have since focused my academic efforts in this endeavour. Outside of my clinical and academic practice, I am an avid off-road cyclist and tennis player. I also enjoy most snow sports and am happiest in winter.
