Biography

Matt (he/him) is a pediatrician and clinician-investigator of white settler heritage based on the unceded and traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. In addition to his clinical training, he completed a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Matt’s clinical and research work is in support of marginalized children and families, particularly those impacted by the substance use epidemic, poverty, and the child welfare system. His overall research motivation is to generate evidence that can drive clinical and policy changes towards health and social justice. He is inspired by the children, families, and patient partners that he has the privilege of working with on a daily basis. Outside of work, Matt can be found playing outside on the ski hill, on a yoga mat, or cooking up a storm with his partner.
