Dr. Downie has trained in genetics, paediatric medicine, nephrology, epidemiology, and bioinformatics. She currently practices as a paediatric nephrologist at Montreal Children’s Hospital and is starting her research program at McGill University. Her research is focused on the identification of the genetic determinants of childhood nephrotic syndrome and the translation of these findings to improved clinical care. She is also a mom to two young daughters and enjoys cycling, cooking, and reading in her spare time.
