Geneviève Mailhot, PhD, RD is a registered dietitian and an associate professor in the Department of Nutrition, University of Montreal. After receiving her BSc in nutrition from University of Montreal (1995), she completed a PhD (2004) studying the influence of calcium and vitamin D deficiency on liver and bone metabolism and then moved to the University of Massachusetts Medical School to complete postdoctoral studies (2006) in skeletal biology. She received a Career Development Award from the CCHCSP (2011-2014) and currently holds a Junior 2 scholar from FRQ-S. She conducts basic and clinical research on vitamin D homeostasis in rare and chronic conditions (sickle cell disease, cystic fibrosis, asthma), and study anti-inflammatory actions of vitamin D at the intestinal level at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center in Montreal
