Katherine Silang received her B.Sc (hons) in psychology from McMaster University in 2019 and is currently an PhD student in Clinical Psychology at the University of Calgary where she works under the supervision of Dr. Lianne Tomfohr-Madsen and Dr. Andrew Szeto. Katherine’s research interests primarily focus on maternal mental health. She is aims to learn more about the associated risk and resiliency factors within this domain, as well as how maternal mental health can impact infant health and development. A particular focus of Katherine’s current research has to do with treatment accessibility and eliminating barriers for vulnerable populations in order to increase the reach of mental health services. When not doing research, you can find Katherine painting, cooking, singing, or spending time with friends trying new restaurants around the city.
