Professor Malcolm King is a member of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (Ontario) and a health researcher at the University of Saskatchewan. Prof. King served as Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Aboriginal Peoples’ Health from 2009 to 2016, and is currently the Scientific Director of the Saskatchewan Centre for Patient-Oriented Research. His research is aimed at improving wellness and achieving health equity for First Nations, Métis and Inuit through strengths-based approaches that respect self-determination and privilege Indigenous ways of knowing. Honoured with a National Aboriginal Achievement Award in 1999, he was elected a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences in 2016 and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2021.
