Patricia Fontela is a pediatric intensivist and epidemiologist with a research focus on personalization of antimicrobial use for pediatric critically ill patients. Her motivation for conducting research comes from her belief that research is the first step to provide better care for children worldwide. Over the years, she has taught clinical research methods and mentored many trainees from different backgrounds. Regarding her personal life, Patricia finds peace of mind when baking for family and friends, and is at her happiest self when by the ocean.
