Sam Micsinszki is a registered nurse and currently a postdoctoral fellow at CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research and the School of Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University. She is interested in patient and family engagement in research as well as knowledge translation and research impact. Throughout her work, she aims to include patients and families with different backgrounds and experiences and strives to conduct research that is relevant and impactful. Sam was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease over a year ago, an experience that has had a significant impact on her personally and professionally. She is keen to use her experiences and her new perspective to create awareness of and advocate for equitable patient and family centered research and care. In her spare time she loves to bake, exercise, organize, and binge watch TV shows-always looking for something new to watch!
