I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta and director of the Supporting Kids Inclusion and Participation (SKIP) Lab in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Alberta (https://sites.google.com/ualberta.ca/s-k-i-p-lab/home). I am interested in collaborative, interdisciplinary research on approaches that improve the health, participation, inclusion and self-determination of autistic people and their families, and strategies to promote engagement of children in goal setting. We engage a participatory approach in the lab, and much of our work occurs in everyday contexts such as schools, summer camps, recreation programs, clinical programs and workplaces. You will regularly find me running the Edmonton’s beautiful river valley, and sharing activities such as playing games, skiing or camping with my two daughters, partner and friends.
