Biography

I am a pediatric nephrologist and an immunologist with a focus on pediatric IgA nephropathy. My primary research interest is the identification of biomarkers and specific prognostic factors of children IgA nephropathy (cIgAN). My research portfolio includes the realization of a French children IgA nephropathy cohort. One of my focuses is to identify children IgAN as a difference disease from adult IgAN. We identify cIgAN as a proliferative disease with more glomerular inflammation and less sclerotic lesions when compared to adult patients. They are more steroids sensitive. They should have different recommendation than in adults. The goal of the proposed research is to identify specific biomarkers and prognostic factors of cIgAN and to study the longitudinal evolution of these markers at different points in time and their association with clinical and biological markers of the disease such as hematuria, proteinuria, eGFR and immunosuppressive treatment. My training in both pediatric nephrology and immunology qualify me to lead this project and ensure its results are accurate and clinically relevant and helpful in clinical practice.
