She has conducted research in a variety of areas related to pediatric psychology, and has a particular interest in pediatric chronic pain and somatic symptoms, sex and gender influences in health, and developing family-centered interventions. Katelynn completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie University, under the mentorship of Dr. Christine Chambers at the Centre for Pediatric Pain Research. She completed her clinical residency at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, and has experience in providing individual, family, and group therapy to youth and families in a variety of inpatient and outpatient medical and psychiatric settings. She is currently a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia. Katelynn’s postdoctoral fellowship research will involve using administrative health data linked with clinical cohort data to examine the early life risk factors that predict the emergence of somatic and psychiatric symptoms in adolescence, with a focus on whether these trajectories differ in boys and girls.
