Dr. Rahul Chanchlani joined the Department of Pediatrics and McMaster Children’s Hospital in September 2015 as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nephrology. He completed a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology and Clinician Investigator Program from the University of Toronto. He is cross appointed as an Associate Faculty in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) and as an Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES), McMaster University. Dr. Chanchlani’s research program aims to promote interdisciplinary research collaborations among peers and experts to address knowledge gaps in key renal diseases using health administrative databases. As principal investigator, his research on acute kidney injury and hypertension is supported by grants from Hamilton Health Sciences New Investigator Award (2017), Physician Services Incorporated Grant (2018), Kidney Foundation of Canada Grant (2019), Early Career Award by Hamilton Health Sciences (2020) and has published >50 manuscripts. Dr. Chanchlani is one of 14 candidates from 12 countries selected to participate in the International Society of Nephrology Emerging Leaders Program. The program provides early-career professionals in integrated kidney care the opportunity to work with international experts in the field preparing them for leadership roles in the advancement of global kidney care.
